I attended the Do-Over Party at Dekalb Market in Brooklyn this past Sunday, and it was loads of fun, and a great way to start off the summer. Phonte (The Foreign Exchange and Little Brother) was on the mic and Pete Rock was one of the DJs spinning and keeping people dancing even with the heat and sun beaming on them.
No one seemed to mind though. Anyone that attended would agree that they had a great time. Word is that there will be another this year. Do-Over parties have also been held in Los Angeles, Japan, and the Philippines.
The Dekalb market in itself is huge — a whole square block full of shops selling everything from clothes, jewelry, food and drinks, etc. I definitely will make another visit here soon for future events and also just to take advantage of everything this urban outdoor space has to offer.
